Immunisation Scholarships

We are funding scholarships to support registered nurses, working as permanent employees in general practice or residential aged care facilities in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Lithgow or Penrith.

The course is being offered through the Australian College of Nursing (ACN) to enable practice nurses and registered nurses in aged care to become accredited at providing vaccinations for patients as authorised nurse immunisers.

Authorised nurse immunisers who have completed an immunisation course will be able to provide immunisation to support the COVID-19 vaccination and/or the influenza immunisation programs. This opportunity will increase the capacity of nurses in our region to provide vaccinations to our health care workers, vulnerable populations and general community. Additional specific training will be required to administer the COVID-19 vaccine, which will soon be made available. Please refer to the Australian COVID Vaccination Policy for further details.
