Multidisciplinary Team Approach – Type 2 Diabetes in Primary Care
We are seeking Credentialled Diabetes Educators and Accredited Practising Dietitians to pilot a multidisciplinary team approach to managing type 2 diabetes in general practices in eastern Penrith. The EOI will open on Wednesday 16 October at 9.00am. More details about this upcoming pilot project can be found on our website. An information session will be held on Zoom as a webinar on Monday 14 October from 6:00 - 6:45 pm.
Allied Health Clinical Council (AHCC)
Our Allied Health Clinical Council advises the Board on recommended strategies to address region-wide issues facing AHPs, while also considering the unique needs and concerns of each local community.
AHCC represents AHPs within each LGA, ensuring all AHPs have an opportunity to share their concerns and ideas, regardless of their location in urban, outer urban, rural and remote communities.

To help support our local healthcare workforce, we provide a service listing local healthcare professional job vacancies on our website. View the job listings for allied health professionals.
Our Workforce Support program offers the following services:
- Free listing of primary health care providers and practice staff job vacancies on our website.
- Accepting CVs from healthcare job seekers and providing a job matching service where possible.
- CV assessment and the provision of relevant advice regarding recruitment processes.
- Liaising with local Universities and other education providers in order to develop the region’s capacity to host medical students, nursing students and allied health trainees.
- Providing relevant induction and orientation to allied health trainees and clinicians who have recently arrived in the region.
Online Peer-to-Peer networking
The Nepean Blue Mountains Healthcare Professionals closed group on Facebook has been set up to provide an online community for local healthcare providers.
The group welcomes membership from all disciplines, including GPs and allied health professionals. It offers a supportive space for discussion and debate on matters related to health and patient care. Please feel free to ask questions, share articles, anecdotes and, videos etc.
To be eligible to participate, you must be a healthcare professional living or working in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Lithgow or Penrith areas.
