Templates

Nepean Blue Mountains PHN offers a variety of useful clinical software templates for specific programs, for Medical Director and Best Practice.

Please go to the program page found on our website for your template.

Instructions – how to search in clinical software

To find a specific template, press Ctrl+F and then type the keyword or topic you are looking for. If you don't find the topic the first time, try variations, different terms or fewer words. The templates provided by us are for your personal use only and must not be redistributed without permission. They have been tested with Version 1.8.4.642 of Best Practice and Version MD3.16 of Medical Director.

Many templates are available under the 'Supplied' section of most clinical software or searchable online from their respective organisations. If you have templates that you would like to share with your peers and/or have any enquiries please contact the Practice Support team online (insert online enquiry form for support) or phone  4708 8100.

Download & install instructions for templates

Downloading from our website

  1. Right click on link and select "Save Target As..."
  2. Select a location on hard drive (which you can find later, such as the desktop) and save.

Medical Director - import instructions

  1. Open Medical Director and then LetterWriter
  2. File Menu > Select Modify Template > Select Blank Template
  3. File > Select Import - locate downloaded file and click on Open
  4. File > Select Save As Template - type in appropriate name and click on Save

IMPORTANT: DO NOT open templates except when importing into clinical software as it may corrupt the format of the document causing you to re-download the template.

Best Practice - import instructions

  1. Open a New Letter and from the Templates menu select Import templates
  2. Locate downloaded file and open
  3. From File menu select Save As. Type in appropriate Template name and click on Save.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT open templates except when importing into clinical software as it may corrupt the format of the document causing you to re-download the template.
