Disaster Grants for Vaccine Providers

Round two applications closed on 31 August 2022.

Our region experiences a range of natural disasters including floods, bushfires, droughts and pandemics. These emergencies can pose a risk to business continuity for general practices and pharmacies.

We recently awarded $352,000 to 86 general practices and pharmacies who were authorised providers of COVID-19 vaccinations in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Lithgow and Penrith LGAs.

Three levels of grants were available ($1,000, $2,500 and $5,000) to support general practices and pharmacies in disaster affected areas. The grants were made possible by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care as part of the Federal Government’s response to the 2022 floods. Funds could be used for flood related expenses, or to help general practices and pharmacies prepare for future natural disasters.
