healthdirect COVID-19 Notification Model 

The healthdirect secure messaging notification model has now replaced the NSW Health notification process. healthdirect's NSW Connected Care Model webpage outlines the new notification process and includes implementation guidance, and support for GPs. GPs can also watch the RACGP webinar for more information on the healthdirect model.

Phone Support and Referral

GPs can contact NSW Health to refer or escalate patient care:

  • NSW Health Support Line on 1800 960 933 from 8:30 am - 8:30 pm - 7 days a week, including public holidays.
  • If emergency assessment is needed, call 000 arrange ambulance transfer to the nearest emergency department, ensuring notification of COVID-positive status.
