Winter is here and flu cases are likely to escalate in the coming weeks. NSW Health has again urged parents to vaccinate their children against flu, after one child died and another 18 children were recently admitted to a Sydney hospital.

In August 2016, our Primary Health Network (PHN) was chosen as one of only 10 PHNs nationally to introduce the stage one trial of Health Care Homes. To date 12 practices have registered for the program, who have together enrolled over 150 patients, with this number growing every week.

For the rest of Australia, this week marked the launch of the three month opt-out period for the Federal Government’s My Health Record expansion program. In our region, most people already have a My Health Record that was created as part of the 2016 Opt-Out Trial, with less than 2% of people choosing to opt-out at the time.
