What is this service?
Wellbeing Connectors are professionals who provide free support to help older adults connect with social and lifestyle activities in their local community.
They take the time to understand your interests, needs and goals, and help you find activities that feel meaningful and enjoyable.
Activities may include:
- physical activity programs such as walking groups and group exercise
- arts and recreational activities such as book clubs, music programs and bird watching
- social activities such as coffee groups, Men’s Sheds and intergenerational programs
- volunteering opportunities
Support can be flexible and tailored to your needs. It may be provided in person, over the phone, online or through a home visit.

- would like to meet new people and build social connections
- are feeling isolated or would like more support to stay connected
- want to take part in local activities but are unsure where to start
- would like support to stay active and involved in your community
- want to maintain independence and continue living at home for longer
The service focuses on helping you feel more connected, supported and confident in everyday life.
Eligibility
You may be eligible for this service if you:
- are 65 years and older, or 55 years and older
- live in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Lithgow or Penrith areas
- are living independently, including in an independent living unit or over 55’s living
The service is available to older adults regardless of whether you are currently receiving government support. Older people in residential aged care are ineligible as the service is designed to support independent living.

Funding
This service is funded by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.
Referrals
You can refer yourself to this service by contacting the service directly or attend as a walk-in during opening hours. Visit the My Health Connector directory and search for ‘Wellbeing Connectors’. Please check the service hours or contact the provider before attending. A referral can also be made by a GP, other health provider, family/carer or friends.
