Windsor Medicare Urgent Care Clinic Provider Announcement

Date published: 6 January 2026

A new Medicare Urgent Care Clinic, funded by the Federal Government, will open in Windsor in February 2026.

After an open tender process, the successful provider for the Windsor Medicare Urgent Care Clinic is Myhealth Kable Street.

Wentworth Healthcare, provider of the Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network (NBMPHN) will oversee the implementation and delivery of the clinic together with Myhealth Kable Street.

Wentworth Healthcare CEO, Lizz Reay, said she was pleased to take the next step towards establishing the Clinic.

“The Windsor Medicare Urgent Care Clinic will offer an additional layer of healthcare support to our community, bridging the gap between primary and acute care for people with urgent, non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries that can’t wait for their usual GP. It will provide timely walk-in access to healthcare without the need for an appointment, leaving emergency departments for those who need it most,” she said.

Ms Reay emphasised that while urgent care services fill an important gap when care is needed quickly and urgently, it’s still important to have a regular family GP.

“It’s important for people to have a regular GP for their ongoing health needs, including vaccinations, preventative health screening, mental healthcare plans and chronic disease management,” she said.

“Having a regular GP that you can build a relationship with over time means that they get to know you, your medical history and lifestyle, making it easier for you to talk to them about your health concerns. It also allows your GP to better consider your overall health and preventative care needs. Your regular GP should always be the first point of contact for non-life-threatening care if they are available,” said Ms Reay.

While the Windsor clinic will not be operational until early February, the NSW Health funded Urgent Care Service is still available in North Richmond. The service is open from 8:00am to 8:00pm, 7 days a week, including public holidays. Access to this service is available through healthdirect on 1800 022 222 where a registered nurse will assess their condition and refer them to the most appropriate care.
