What is this service?
The Lithgow Speech Therapy Outreach Program provides specialised speech therapy support for children in the Lithgow community who are experiencing the impacts of trauma from domestic, family or sexual violence or housing instability.
These traumatic events can affect a child’s development in different ways. Some children may find it harder to express themselves, understand language or confidently communicate with others. Speech therapy provides a safe and supportive environment where children can develop communication, language and speech skills. The program helps children strengthen their ability to express themselves and support their learning and social development.

Eligibility
The program is available for children in the Lithgow region who:
- have been impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence, or
- may be at risk of homelessness or experiencing housing instability
- are referred by Lithgow Community Projects
Funding
This service is funded by the Rural Doctors Network.
Referrals
This service operates through a closed referral pathway, with referrals only accepted from Lithgow Community Projects.
