What we do
We play a central coordinating role in the development of HealthPathways in our region, working in partnership with the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, local GPs and allied health providers and to ensure pathways reflect both evidence-based practice and the realities of our local health system. A formal governance structure, led by the HealthPathways Steering Committee, provides oversight, strategic direction and quality assurance.
HealthPathways can help you:
- find the best management and treatment options available locally for common medical conditions
- find information on how to refer to the most appropriate local services and specialists
- with educational resources and information for patients, to enable better self-management
- meet your continuing professional development (CPD) requirements by tracking time spent in the system, recordings reflections and self-directed learning notes, making it simple to generate activity reports and report learning hours

How We Develop HealthPathways
Pathways are developed collaboratively by local GPs, hospital clinicians and allied health professionals, ensuring content is practical, trusted at the point of care and preserves clinical autonomy and patient choice. Pathways are reviewed regularly and updated through ongoing engagement with GPs and other subject matter experts across the region. This collaborative approach supports integrated local care pathways, strengthens communication between services, and gives clinicians dependable referral options that reflect local needs and service capacity.
