Nurse Re-entry Program (For General Practices)
The Nurse Re-entry Program (for general practices) is an Australian Government initiative supporting general practices to build their capability by hosting nurses in supervised placements. The program will strengthen your team by training nurses within your practice to regain full registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). Once completed, the nurse will have met the requirements for full registration and be fully trained in your practice.
Connector Point in Pharmacy Program
We are seeking pharmacies in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Lithgow and Penrith local government areas to join our social prescribing program by becoming a Pharmacy Connector Point, to help improve social connections for older adults in our region.
This is part of our Compassionate Communities initiative aimed at enhancing social connections among older adults. Our 2025 Pharmacy Connector Points video explains the role.
Participating pharmacies will be remunerated to complete Connector Point training and deliver social prescribing services in their pharmacy. This involves health professionals connecting patients with non-clinical services, social groups or lifestyle activities, to help improve their health and wellbeing by building stronger connections within their local community.
