We have commissioned a new Chronic Airways Limitation Management (CALM) pulmonary rehabilitation program through Hawkesbury District Health Service.
The CALM program is for anyone with a lung disease who has difficulty breathing and is provided by a physiotherapist, specialist nurse and an assistant within Hawkesbury Community Health Services.
The program is delivered twice a week, over 8 weeks and aims to improve patients’ fitness and ability to perform day-to-day activities. The program includes:
- education sessions to help with symptom management
- peer support
- social interaction
- access to the Lungs in Action exercise group (also NBMPHN funded and through Hawkesbury Community Health Services).
GPs can refer patients to the CALM program by using the Hawkesbury District Health Service CALM Referral Form.
Contact Physiotherapist Anna Bishop on 4560 5714 for more information about the program.
