Exercise is Medicine Workshop Success

10 May 2018

Over the past two decades evidence has shown that regular exercise has enormous benefits for the prevention and treatment of a wide range of chronic conditions. Our Exercise is Medicine Workshops are designed to educate primary healthcare professionals about the multi-disciplinary role of physical activity in the prevention and management of patients with chronic disease.

Presented by an accredited exercise physiologist, these interactive workshop are endorsed by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), the Australian Practice Nurses Association (APNA) and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM).

The first workshop was held on Tuesday, 1 May at the Carrington Hotel, in Katoomba. Participants had high praise for the event, and highlighted the usefulness of graded exercise therapy that addressed most patient conditions. They also said that they felt more confident about encouraging chronic and at risk patients to engage in movement.

There are still places available at the final workshop on Tuesday, 29 May in Kingswood. Register online or for more information call 4708 8100.
