What is this service?
This service is a free non-residential day treatment service that supports you if you’re experiencing alcohol and other drug concerns.
Your care is guided by a harm minimisation framework, which means the focus is on reducing harm, improving your wellbeing and helping you make practical, achievable changes based on your individual needs and goals.
You can access support in-person or via telehealth, depending on what’s most appropriate for you. Services include:
- intake, assessment and personalised treatment planning
- individual counselling
- case management and ongoing support
- non-residential day rehabilitation group programs
- SMART Recovery groups

Dianella Cottage provides structured, flexible support to help you reduce harm and improve your wellbeing.
You will benefit if you:
- are experiencing alcohol or other drug dependency
- would like one-to-one counselling or case management
- are interested in structured day rehabilitation without staying overnight
- want support that recognises co-occurring mental health concerns (low to medium needs)
- prefer access to telehealth or local in person services
The program supports recovery at your pace, with practical strategies and ongoing guidance.
Eligibility
You can access this service if you are:
- are 18 years or older
- are experiencing alcohol or other drug dependency
- live or work in the Blue Mountains or Lithgow, or surrounding areas
An assessment is required before entering the program to ensure the service is suitable for your needs.
Funding
This service is funded by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.
Referrals
You can refer yourself to this service by contacting the service directly or walk-in during opening hours. Please check the service hours or contact the provider before attending. A referral can also be made by a GP, other health provider, family/carer or friends.
