Includes Inhaler Device Technique Training

This workshop for GPs and Practice Nurses focuses on up-to-date evidence and treatment options for supporting and treating patients with COPD.

Participants will have the opportunity to discuss current approaches and best practice treatment. There will be an emphasis on practical advice and hands on learning.

Learning outcomes:

  • Identify patients at risk of COPD and confirm a diagnosis of COPD
  • Explain effective non-pharmacotherapy and pharmacotherapy interventions for the management of COPD
  • Utilise evidence-based tools to assess and manage patients with COPD
  • Review correct inhaler technique
  • Identify potential problems in using respiratory inhaler devices

All participants will receive a box of placebo inhaler devices to use when teaching patients, plus hard copy COPD resources.
