Important update on changes to ATAPS General Service

28 February 2018

Clients already accessing services under a Tier 1 General ATAPS referral can receive a re-referral until 30 June 2018.

This is in response to feedback to extend the timeframe for re-referrals of clients currently receiving services within the general tier of the ATAPS service. We have been able to do this through flexible funding arrangements with the Department of Health to enable continuity of care for existing clients.

Therefore from 1 January 2018 to 30 June 2018, ATAPS referrals can be made under the current eligibility criteria for:

Tier 1 (general) service

Client holds a Centrelink issued pension or health care card and is:

  • currently receiving services under a Tier 1 (general) referral and requires ongoing service in 2018 (includes clients who have already had one re-referral in 2018). New clients not accepted; or
  • aged 12-25yrs and resides in Lithgow area. New clients accepted.

Tier 2 services

  • Children 0-11 years of age (family holds a current Centrelink issued Health Care Card)
  • Women with perinatal mental health issues
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
  • People at low to moderate risk of suicide or self-harm (suicide prevention service)
