From the comfort of your own home/practice you can receive suicide prevention coaching from a trained GP mental health specialist. Targeted at groups of up to 8 GPs and Practice Nurses, this session is aimed at improving the recognition of warning signs for suicide risk. It also includes the development of collaborative safety plans that incorporate the involvement of support people in the person's life, as well as creating a network of health professionals and relevant services to assist the person in remaining safe.

Learning outcomes:

  • List the key components of a risk assessment
  • Identify warning signs and protective factors for suicide
  • Develop a safety plan for a person at risk of suicide

Suitable for:

GPs, GP Registrars and Practice Nurses

Pre-requisites: participants must have attended:

  • Talking about Suicide in General Practice
  • Advanced Training in Suicide Prevention
