Our entire organisation is very excited this week by the announcement that one of our staff members has been named to carry the Queen's Baton as it makes its way through Penrith for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Mitchell Beggs-Mowczan is one of only 17 baton bearers selected for the local leg of the relay.
This honour follows Mitchell being named Penrith’s Young Citizen of the Year for 2017 in January, in recognition of his work improving the health of the region’s Aboriginal community, fundraising for medical treatments, and training young men at the gym.
Mitchell helped raise more than $200,000 for life-saving surgery for Ziad Soltani after he was diagnosed with a brain tumour at 11, making him a get-well video featuring NRL players including Panthers stars Bryce Cartwright and Nathan Cleary.
As a company in the healthcare industry, we are very lucky to have staff who often employ their passion for improving the health and wellbeing of our community in ventures beyond our walls as well as in their day jobs.
We are extremely proud of Mitchell's dedication to our community and that he is so deservedly being recognised.
