New Psychiatry Support Line Exclusively for GPs

At the start of this month, we were excited to launch a free psychiatry advice line exclusively for GPs to help manage the care of patients with mental health concerns.

We know that in parts of our region there are limited psychiatrists available and that sometimes there can be lengthy wait times for patients to access these services. The GP Psychiatry Support Line gives GPs direct and timely access to psychiatry expertise, allowing patients whose conditions are treatable within primary care, to stay under the care of their GP.

2017 Clinical Paediatric Day

Last month, our Events team coordinated a Clinical Paediatric Day in partnership with Nepean Blue Mountains LHD.

This is an educational event we have been presenting annually, and, now in its fourth year, its audience has continued to climb, with over 75 GPs, primary care nurses and allied health providers from across the region attending this year.

Connecting healthcare professionals online

Every healthcare provider has the aim to improve patient health and our organisation wholeheartedly supports this pursuit. There are opportunities for the healthcare system to be more 'connected' when multiple healthcare professionals manage the care of a patient, although this is often challenging, given the time limitations and pressures our health system faces.

We can play a pivotal role in helping to unite local providers, generating opportunities for them to connect with each other and gain a greater understanding of what other health disciplines can offer a patient...
