The Nepean Blue Mountains PHN and Black Dog Institute is pleased to offer a low intensity mental health services training program for GPs, Practice Nurses and Allied Health Professionals working in the primary care setting in the Nepean Blue Mountains region. This training program aims to build capacity in the region to support consumers who can benefit from low intensity interventions.

This unique learning pathway is offered to reinforce and embed learning.  It includes:

  • Face-to-face workshop - duration: 2 hours (4 Category 2 RACGP points)
Participants will explore 'low intensity' mental health, gaining a better understanding of various evidence-based alternatives to traditional face-to-face psychological services. The development of the stepped care model will be discussed, as well as advantages of the approach for the patient and the mental health system generally.
  • Academic detailing session: Mental Health and Stepped care - duration:1 hour (2 Category 2 RACGP points)
Pre-requisite: Attendance at Stepped Care and eMH in General Practice workshop
Participants can register for an academic detailing session following completion of the face-to-face workshop. Facilitated by a Black Dog Institute GP facilitator in your practice setting, the focus of this session is to provide strategies and solutions for clinicians to overcome barriers to evidence-based best practices.
  • Live webinar and Q & A - duration: 45 minutes
Join our expert panel to further explore low intensity mental health services and the stepped care model in primary care.
