Overview

Addiction is a chronic, relapsing condition which is difficult to treat. GPs and other primary care professionals have a key role to play in prevention, early detection and management of substance misuse and dependence.

This training opportunity aims to provide GPs with the skills to confidently identify problematic use by using appropriate screening tools, formulate early detection strategies, apply safe drinking guidelines and apply alcohol withdrawal principles.
